Elta Barbara Millenger Turner

A service for Elta Barbara Millinger Turner, 86, will be held Friday, March 7, at 1 p.m. at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City, with visitation held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Following will be a graveside service at Mt. View Cemetery in Reno at 3 p.m.

Mrs. Turner died on February 25, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was born in Hugo, Colorado, on July 2, 1921, to Roy and Orpha Brenneman Millinger. She later moved with her family to Caldwell, Idaho where she attended the College of Idaho and was a member of an award winning debate team. Following WWII, she relocated to Reno with her two young children where she met and married Arthur A. Turner. She and her husband later moved to Hawthorne where both were employed by the Naval Ammunition Depot until their retirement. In 1978, she and her husband relocated to Markleeville, Calif. where they made their home.

Mrs. Turner was a member of the Carson City Chapter AA of the PEO Sisterhood and the John C. Freemont Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Gardnerville.

Preceding Mrs. Turner in death were her husband Arthur A. Turner and her brother Jack L. Millinger.

Surviving are her son Larry G. Bettis (Pamela) of Las Vegas and daughters Niki Cupples (Steve) of Fairfield, Calif..; Nancy A. Brown (Michael) of San Diego, Calif.; Jean E. Atkinson (Gary) of Reno Joan M. Tsang of Lafayette, Calif.; together with fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, all of whom she dearly loved.
