Carson City


Computer classes at Carson City Senior Center


Computer classes are being offered in March at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center. Sign-ups are being held in the business office of the center, 911 Beverly Drive. There is a waiting list for those who miss the current enrollment.


Intermediate Computers is scheduled for 9-11 a.m. March 17-April 2. This course is designed for those with some familiarity and skill with the computer who wish to improve their skills. Cost is $30 including all materials.


Introduction to Computers is scheduled 1-3 p.m. March 18-April 10. The course is designed for beginners, familiarity with the key board is helpful. Cost for the course is $40, including all materials. For information, call 883-0703, ext. 222.




NNDA hosts Business Resource Forum


Northern Nevada Development Authority hosts a Business Resource Forum, luncheon and workshops, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., March 11 at The Plaza Hotel and Conference Center, 211 E. Ninth St. Cost $30 per person. For information and to RSVP, call 883-4413.


St. Teresa hosts Crab Feed to benefit its school


St. Teresa hosts Crab Claws for a Good Cause, 6-11 p.m. Friday at St. Teresa Church Chartz Hall. Live music and dancing featuring Red's Ramblers. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Tickets $40 per person. Proceeds to benefit St. Teresa School. For information and tickets call 882-2079.




Carson Republican Women host St. Patrick's fundraiser


The Carson City Republican Women host a St. Patrick's Day fundraiser dinner, 5:30 p.m. March 15, at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St. This annual event features a silent auction and raffle; entertainment with celebrity host State Senator Mark Amodei. Funds raised will benefit efforts to provide support for community-oriented projects. Cost is $30. Reservations must be received by March 12. Call 841-6146.

Women's Sierra Nevada Active 20-30 club looking for models


The Women's Sierra Nevada Active 20-30 Club is looking for men, women and children models of all ages and sizes for their annual Spring Fashion Show on April 27. The women's club will partner with area stores showcasing clothing for men, women and children to suit every occasion. The event will also include a silent auction and a raffle. Proceeds from this event benefit special needs children and their programs in Douglas County. Anyone interested is asked to e-mail jacquie2030@hotmail.com or call 691-3982.




Brenn Hill returning to the Carson Valley Inn


Award-winning Utah singer-songwriter Brenn Hill returns to Minden for his third annual concert at the Carson Valley Inn. Showtime is Saturday.


Hill's solo acoustic performance will feature material from his six-album catalog.


Hill, a Red Cliffs' recording artist, lives in Hooper, Utah, and has been called "the future of cowboy music."


Hill's concert in the Inn's Shannon Ballroom starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6. Tickets are at 783-7708 or at S&W Feeds in Carson City at 882-1225.
