Barbara M. Ross, 72, a long time Carson City educator, passed away March 7, 2008 in Reno. She was born June 7, 1935 in San Jose, Calif. She graduated from San Mateo High School and San Jose State College with a BA in Education. On June 23, 1956 she married Reid Ross in San Mateo, Calif. They moved to Carson City in 1963. Barbara was past worthy matron of Carson City Esther Chapter #3 OES. Barbara taught the first grade in Carson City for 30 years and is a member of the Nevada Educational Association and the National Educational Association. She was a licensed Amateur Radio Operator for 45 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Reid Ross of Carson City; one son Wesley (Lila) Ross of Elk Grove, California and a daughter Ann Bradford of Salinas, California. one brother Richard Merrill of Colfax, California; and five grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, March 14, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Carson City Masonic Lodge. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley. Memorial donations can be made to the Esther Chapter #3 OES.
