'Little Toots' will sing at the Railroad Museum


Fremont Elementary School teacher Sandra Irvin's second grade student chorus, the "Little Toots," will present railroad-themed music at 7 p.m. tonight at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, 2180 S. Carson St.

Open House at Bethlehem Lutheran School


An Open House, Social Studies Fair and a Silent Auction will take place from 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday at Bethlehem Lutheran School, located at 1837 Mountain St.

Stroke and Osteoporosis screening slated


Life Line Screening will offer stroke and osteoporosis screening on March 26 at the Carson Plaza Retirement, located at 2120 E. Long St. Pre-registration is required. Screenings are fast, painless and affordable.

Carson City Retired Teachers Association meets 11:30 a.m. Friday at Q's Restaurant. Nevada State legislator Bonnie Parnell will speak about education issues facing Nevada.

Douglas County Republican Central Committee to meet


Douglas County Republican Central Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at C.V.I.C. Hall in Minden. All members elected for membership at the Douglas County Republican Convention are expected to attend. The Executive Board will convene at 6 p.m. in the upstairs conference room.

Mountain Oyster Fry in Virginia City


The 17th Mountain Oyster Fry begins at noon Saturday in Virginia City.


New and experienced cooks will compete for bragging rights for Best Overall Taste, Best Booth, Most Creative and Best Presentation of lamb fries flown in from New Zealand. Set-up for cooking "gonadologists" is 7 a.m. Saturday at the Bucket of Blood parking lot. The $75 chef entry fee includes 20 pounds of lamb fries.

Wellington


Smith Valley Friends of the Library hosts St. Paddy's Dinner


Smith Valley Friends of the Library will host a St. Paddy's Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner and Auction, 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Community Hall in Wellington. Cost is adults $12.50, younger than 12 $5 and children under five are free.


A quilt donated by the Pineneedlers quilting group will be raffled. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. For tickets, call 465-2873 or 465-1314.
