Amber Alert issued in search for Nye County boy

PAHRUMP " The Nye County sheriff's office says an Amber Alert has been issued in the search for a father who's alleged to have assaulted his estranged wife and taken their 6-month-old son.

Detectives say 46-year-old Stephen James Alarid is believed to be driving a gray 1998 Toyota Camry with a Nevada professional firefighter license plate, 0839.

Nye County Sheriff's Detective David Boruchowitz (buh-ROOK'-uh-witz) says Alarid is believed to be armed with two shotguns and a knife.

The boy, named Juliun Stevon Alarid, is believed to be with him.

Nye County Sheriff's Detective David Boruchowitz (buh-ROOK'-uh-witz) says Alarid is sought on kidnapping, domestic battery and violation of protection order charges.

Boruchowitz says Alarid beat and threatened Warner on Tuesday, and told her that if she called the police she would not get the child back.
