PAHRUMP " A Nye County sheriff's official says a 6-month-old boy has been returned unharmed to his mother's doorstep, and an Amber Alert has been canceled.

Nye County Sheriff's Detective David Boruchowitz (buh-ROOK'-uh-witz) said Wednesday that 46-year-old Stephen James Alarid is still sought in the overnight abduction.

The boy, named Juliun Stevon Alarid, is OK.

Alarid is accused of assaulting his estranged wife and taking the boy on Tuesday.

Boruchowitz says Alarid is sought on kidnapping, domestic battery and violation of protection order charges.

Authorities say Stephen Alarid has a gray 1998 Toyota Camry with a Nevada professional firefighter license plate. He's believed to have two shotguns and a knife with him.
