Students win awards and plan activities

Thanksgiving might quiet the halls for a few days, but there is still plenty happening at Carson High School. Winter sports and activities are gearing up for another season. Exams are right around the corner. Here are a few other highlights:

The Academic Letter was a celebration of high academic achievements held on Nov. 13th. Student Activities Director Jennifer Tartan indicated that there were a few mistakes in the program that need to be rectified.

Receiving an award for the first time and earning a letter were Justin Allbritten, Brittney Allen and Sara Anderson.

Receiving an award for the second time and earning a pin was Yadira Duarte. And receiving an award for the third time and earning a patch was Gordon Lee. We apologize to these students for the mistakes and congratulate them on their success.

There will be a NBA D-League intersquad game between the Reno Bighorns in the Big Gym at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Admission is free for all elementary students. Middle and high school students are free with student body card, $1 without student body card. Adults are also free.

Come enjoy some dunks, fun and give-aways. It's great family fun before turkey day.

The CHS Ski & Snowboard Team is ready for another exciting winter on the slopes.

They are partnering with The Sporting Rage to present "The Children of Winter," Warren Miller Entertainment's 59th feature film.

Join them at the Carson City Community Center on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. for a glimpse at the legacy of Warren Miller Entertainment's pioneering leadership in action sports cinematography.

Tickets are $10 early (available from The Sporting Rage or CHS Ski or Board Team athlete) or $12 at the door.
