Isolated showers expected by evening in Carson City

Weather for the Carson City area today will be partly cloudy and windy with isolated showers in the afternoon and areas of blowing dust east of Carson City in the afternoon. Highs 57-67 with west winds 10-15 mph increasing to 20-30 mph in the afternoon with gusts up to 45 mph.

Tonight, windy with scattered showers in the evening and areas of blowing dust. Numerous snow showers possible after midnight with snow level at 5500 feet lowering to the valley floor with accumulation of 1 inch or so mainly above 5000 feet. Lows 24-34 with west winds 20-30 mph gusts up to 45 mph.

Friday, mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers in the morning then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs 38-48 with northwest winds 10-15 mph.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:36 a.m. all roads open with no controls.

Utility work is being done on Corbett and East John streets off North Roop Street. Detours are noted for motorists.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.

Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House for the V&T continues with posted lower speed limits and narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.
