Emblem Club hosts 'after taxes dinner'

An "After Taxes Dinner" and bunco party will be hosted by the Carson City Emblem Club No. 507, 6 p.m., Saturday, April 18, at the Elks Lodge, 515 N. Nevada St. Dinner is $5 and includes baked potatoes with all the toppings. Bunco will follow at 7 p.m. Cost is $5. Proceeds benefit local charities. For information, call 882-8874.

Bear Boosters seek members

Whimsical women are sought for membership of the Bear Boosters of Nevada. Ladies who collect and enjoy Teddy Bears and telling stories of Teddy Bear's adventures may want to join a monthly potluck luncheon with other Teddy Bear lovers. For information, call 882-7128 or 329-2044.

Dangberg Home Ranch tours offered

Nevada State Parks invites the public to tour the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park, west of Minden on Highway 88. Tours begin 10 a.m. Wednesday-Sunday, April 22 and 2 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays. The tours last about one hour. Reservations are required and are limited to 10 people. Tour admission is $3 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. Dog obedience at Fuji on Monday night

Guy Yeaman will teach dog obedience, 6:30 p.m., Monday at Fuji Park, 701 Clear Creek Road. The class is a six-week session for $75. Dogs will learn to obey commands such as: heel, sit, stay, stand and recall. Each dog needs a training collar and a fabric or leather lead. Dogs must be at least 4 months old and current on their shots. To register and for information, call 265-4530.
