Taylor bowls third 300 game of season

Fred Taylor, bowling on the Monday Men's Senior Scratch Trio at Gold Dust West on April 13, bowled a 300 game and 812 series. This is Taylor's third 300 game this season on the senior leagues and his second 800 series.

WNC athletics fundraiser on May 1

A fundraiser for the Western Nevada baseball and softball teams is scheduled for May 1 at the Plaza Hotel Conference Center.

Dubbed "Suds and Sounds," the event will feature two bands playing from 5:30 to 10 p.m. with food available for purchase by the Plaza Hotel and Red's Old 395 Grill.

The beer tasting will include several premium microbrews.

Booster golf tourney at Edgewood

A golf tournament to benefit Whittell and South Tahoe high schools is set for May 3 at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, site of the annual Celebrity Golf Tournament.

The cost is $125 per player for the 11 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee includes golf, cart, closest-to-the-hole contest, hole-in-one contest and lunch.

The tournament also is looking for hole sponsors.

Annual Prestella tournament May 30

The fourth annual Kenny Prestella Memorial Golf Tournament has been scheduled for May 30 at Empire Ranch Golf Course.

The entry fee is $100, which includes golf, cart and lunch.

All proceeds to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation.

The tournament gets started at 8 a.m. for the four-man scramble event.

There will be prizes awarded for the two longest drives.

Eagle Valley to hold fundraiser May 24

The Eagle Valley East Golf Course will hold a fundraising event May 24.

The event will be a four-person scramble with shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m.

Cost is $65 per player or $20 per person in a four-some. Fees include 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls, golf towel and post tournament BBQ.

Hole sponsorships are available for $124 and longest drive and closest to the pin sponsorships are $150.
