Our father passed away peacefully April 9, 2009 at the wonderful age of 87. Dick was born Jan. 18, 1922 in San Jose, Calif. to Joe and Vera Reyes. He joined the Army Air Corps at the age of 18, and was a captain and a link trainer for the B-17 aircraft, specializing in training soldiers in the use of the Norden bombsite and later served in the Air Force Reserve.

Following the war he married LaVonne Olson and they had two sons, Garr and Kim Reyes. He owned a Liquor store in San Jose, but his true passion was the love of collecting antique guns. He was a collector and antique gun dealer for over 50 years in San Jose and later in Carson City. He partnered with Chris Anderson to form Fort Carson Antique Guns, which was in business for over 30 years. Even well into his 80s, dad loved to attend local gun shows to reminisce with his many friends.

He is survived by his two sons, Garr Reyes and his wife Linda and her son Jeremy Abbott of Carson City and Kim Reyes and his wife Joan of Reno, sister Peggy Constantino of San Jose, Ca and two grandchildren Jaime Williams and Stacie Reyes both of Carson City. He is preceded in death by his father Joe Reyes and mother Vera Fontanetti.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of our dad will be 11 a.m., Saturday at Walton's Funeral Home in Carson City. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that a donation for our father's favorite charity be made by mailing your donation to the SPCA of Reno, NV at 840 E. 5th St., Reno, NV 89512 - Attn: donation. Please address donation in the name of Richard Reyes and include your mailing address.
