The Governor's Office has directed the flags at the Capitol Building be at half staff today in remembrance of Corrections Officer Greg Farnsworth, who died Tuesday after a fall at the Nevada State Prison on Fifth Street.

Nevada Department of Corrections spokeswoman Suzanne Pardee said Farnsworth collapsed about 9:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at 10 p.m. at the prison.

"All indications are that he died of natural causes," Pardee said in a news release.

An employee of the prisons since 2004, Farnsworth was "well-respected and liked his by his fellow employees," Pardee said.

NDOC Director Howard Skolnik has asked that flags be at half staff for the rest of the week.

Farnsworth is survived by a wife and two children.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this most difficult time," said Pardee
