This Virginia & Truckee Wood Ring (continued from yesterday) has not only absorbed all the wood cutting and timber interests of Western Nevada, thus monopolizing two very important industries, but they are charged with the authorship of this diabolical plan for robbing the woodchoppers of the price of their labor. The absence of a lien law in favor of the woodchopper invites collusion between knavish principals and rascally contractors.

Died at the Poor Farm, Richard Anderson. Dick Anderson, as he was familiarity known has been a resident of this city for many years and although rough in manner he had many good qualities. He will be missed by many friends.

More than 160 skiers, speed skaters and biathlon experts from 14 countries will compete in the North American Ski championships at Squaw Valley in preparation for the 1960 Winter Olympics there.

Several legislators questioned a bill to protect non-smoker's rights as actually protecting smoker's rights. As written, SB25 would require those in control of public buildings to designate a separate room or area for smokers.

Joe Dini, D-Yerington, has been elected as Assembly speaker for the eighth time.
