Today's weather for the Carson City area will be sunny in the morning becoming mostly cloudy. Highs 34-44 with light winds becoming southwest 10-15 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight, mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow in the evening, then chance of snow after midnight. Lows 19-29 with southwest winds 10-20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
Wednesday, cloudy with scattered snow showers in the morning then chance of snow in the afternoon. Highs 31-41 with southwest winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the morning.
The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:37 a.m. all roads open with no controls with the following exceptions:
SR 431 " Snowtires or chains required for 12.6 miles between SR 28 and 11.9 miles south of Highway 395.
Utility work is being done on Little Lane between Saliman Road south Stewart Street, mainly between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., with lane restrictions on Little Lane west of South Roop Street.
Utility work is also being done on North Roop Street from East John to Long streets, and on Corbett street, west of North Roop.
Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays. There is continued work on Fairview Drive from South Edmonds to South Carson Street with lane closures and possible delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.
Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House has posted lower speed limits with narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.
