Controls still in effect on major mountain roads

The Nevada Department of Transportation Highway Controls Summary for 7:51 a.m. shows all routes open with no controls with the following exceptions:

Interstate 80 " Chains required except for 4-wheel-drive vehicles for 46.7 miles between Alta and .9 miles west of Hirschdale Road, Calif.

Highway 50 " Chains or snowtires required for 14.6 miles between .7 miles east of the California-Nevada state line and 6.9 miles west of Highway 395 in south Carson City.

Chains required except for 4-wheel-drive vehicles for 41.9 miles between 9.1 miles east of Placerville and 4.1 miles west of SR 89 in California.

SR 431 " Snowtires or chains required for 6.5 miles between junction SR 28 and 6.5 miles north of SR 28.

Road closed due to avalanche control for 6.1 miles between 6.5 miles north of junction SR 28 and 11.9 miles south of junction Highway 395.
