Hunting, fishing licenses available for 2009-10 season

(NDOW) " Licenses for the 2009-10 seasons and all stamps, including the state duck stamp, are available at Nevada Department of Wildlife offices and will be available at license vendors by March 1. The current license year ends Feb. 28.

Fishing tournament March 14 on Tahoe

Tom Brooks' Gone Fishing tournament will take place Saturday, March 14 on Lake Tahoe. The tournament winner will be the boat which catches the highest total weight of 4 Mackinaw.

The entry fee is $40 with a payout of 60 percent for first; 30 percent for second; and 10 percent for third.

The event is open to the public and no guides are allowed.

Signup at the Timbers Saloon. The tournament runs sun up and all fish must be weighed by 4 p.m.

In case of cancelation the tournament will take place the following Saturday.

Half of the entry fee will be donated to the Ormsby Sportsman's Association helping underprivileged children get a chance to take a Tahoe Charter Trip on Mickey Daniel's Boat.
