Benefit of Miss Lizzie Ingles. She will be the recipient of a benefit tendered her by her many warm friends and leading citizens of Carson who admire her ability as an actress and deportment as a lady of culture and unexceptional character. She will be ably assisted by the local talent of our own and sister city of Virginia. The bill offered for the evening will consist of comedy, farce, songs, sayings, recitations, etc.

Lieutenant Walter Wright of the First Nevada Calvary, now stationed at Manila, writes to his mother the boys of the troop are well and enjoy life. Captain Linscott's company has been attached to the First California Heavy Artillery.

"If you use your brain to earn a living you probably are becoming bigheaded," according to Dr. Ales Ardlicka of the Smithsonian Institution. "Did you ever attend a meeting of bankers, lawyers or scientists?" he asked. "If you have, you probably have noticed they all have big heads."

The 1958 champion for class a doubles was Mel Coperthwaithe and John Bawden. Bawden also took the singles. Taking the all events crown was John Zalac of Virginia City. Leading the "B" bowling all the way was Fred Richards of Stewart.
