Isolated rain showers for Carson City

Weather for the Carson City area today will have morning rain then mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs 50-60 with southwest winds 10-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, partly cloudy with lows 29-39 with southwest winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph in the evening.

Tuesday, partly cloudy with highs 50-60 with southwest winds around 10 mph.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 6:02 a.m. all roads open with no controls with the following exceptions:

Interstate 80 " Chains required except for 4-wheel drive vehicles for 13.5 miles between Kingvale and 1.8 miles west of Truckee, Calif.

Highway 50 " Chains required except for 4-wheel-drive vehicles for 11 miles between 10.6 miles east of Kyburz and 4.1 miles west of SR 89 California.

SR 431 " Chains required except for 4-wheel drive vehicles for 6.7 miles between Northstar and SR 28 at Kings Beach.

Utility work continues on Little Lane between Saliman Road south Stewart Street, mainly between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., with lane restrictions on Little Lane west of South Roop Street.

Utility work is also being done on North Roop Street from East John to Long streets, and on Corbett street, west of North Roop.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.

Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House has posted lower speed limits with narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.
