Sunny in Carson City today

Weather for the Carson City area today will be mostly sunny with highs 51-61 with southwest winds 10-20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph in the morning.

Tonight, partly cloudy with lows 26-36 with west winds up to 10 mph.

Wednesday, mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers. Highs 48-58 with southwest winds 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:41 a.m. all roads open with no controls with the following exceptions:

Interstate 80 " Chains required except for 4-wheel drive vehicles for 13.3 miles between Kingvale and Central Truckee exit, Calif.

Highway 395 " High wind warning: Campers and trailers are prohibited fro 6 miles between East Lake Boulevard and Winters Ranch in Washoe Valley.

Utility work continues on Little Lane between Saliman Road south Stewart Street, mainly between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., with lane restrictions on Little Lane west of South Roop Street.

Utility work is also being done on North Roop Street from East John to Long streets, and on Corbett street, west of North Roop.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.

Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House has posted lower speed limits with narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.
