Man dies in wreck near Fallon

FALLON " The Nevada Highway Patrol says a man was killed when he lost control of his speeding Cadillac near Fallon.

The accident happened Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of U.S. 95 and Pasture Road.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation suggests the driver was speeding in a 1999 Cadillac Escalade and failed to stop at a stop sign. He attempted to turn right on U.S. 95 but was going too fast. The SUV skidded across the road and came to rest near a ditch.

The man was flown to a Reno hospital where he died.

The victim's name was withheld until relatives are notified.
