'Breakfast for Books' at Carson Library June 13

The Friends of Carson City Library host a "Breakfast for Books" Summer Book Sale,

8 a.m.-3 p.m. June 13 on the library lawn and in the auditorium, 900 N. Roop St. The one day sale features a selection of books and videos for children, adult fiction, non-fiction, videos and CDs. All proceeds benefit the library. Call 887-1830.

Douglas Republicans to meet June 11

Douglas County Republican Central Committee will meet June 11 at Republican Headquarters, 1516 Highway 395, Suite G, Gardnerville. Executive board meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by a social gathering at 7 p.m.; regular meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. Joe Heck, 2010 gubernatorial candidate will speak.
