George William McRoberts, 90, a 30-year resident of Carson City, died June 1, 2009. He was born Nov. 18, 1918 in Silver Lake, Kan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Margaret McRoberts. Among his survivors are son and daughter-in-law Bill and Leslie McRoberts of Bellingham, Wash.; son Jim McRoberts of San Leandro, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday at Hilltop Community Church, 3616 N. Sunridge Drive. Inurnment with military honors will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Navy Relief and the Salvation Army. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
