Fell from his horse: About midnight Friday night, a drunken granger was galloping through town on horseback as if chased by the horrid demons which bad whiskey will create. As he reached the Ormsby House block, he was precipitated from his saddle and landed squarely on his cranium. The horse, after ridding itself of its rider came to a dead halt. Strange to say, the man was not hurt. He remounted his steed and rode off as if nothing had happened. Had he been sober, he would have likely broken his neck.

The Reno Gazette, now edited by E. L. Bignham, is again criticizing the Publicity Commission and the chairman, Sam P. Davis. Be it reminded that Mr. Davis was appointed by the governor and declined the appointment and after he received his commission he tendered his resignation which was also declined by the governor. Since then he has attended to the duties of his office and paid all expenses out of his own pocket.

Teachers and students dominate the list of fire lookouts and patrolmen, according to state forester George Zappetini. Employees work 44 hours a week and will be stationed at various locations including Peavine, Zephyr Cove, Verdi and Glenbrook.
