Soroptimists Girls of the Month

The Soroptimist Girl of the Year and recipient of a $1,000 scholarship is Elizabeth Lewis, the daughter of Mike and Mary Lewis of Carson City. Elizabeth will attend Oregon State University in September as a pre-pharmacy major.

The March Soroptimist Girl of the Month is Tiffany Moore, daughter of Shirley and Randolph Moore of Carson City. Tiffany has been active in the community a a volunteer. Her volunteer efforts include coaching tennis for the Boys and Girls Club, working with the Nevada Talking Books Program and as a 2008 General Election Poll Assistant. She is active in the Awana Club at her church and is a member of the Capital City Community Band. Tiffany has been accepted as a pre-journalism major at the University of Nevada, Reno.

The April Soroptimist Girl of the Month is Brittany Shirey, daughter of Michelle and Brian Shirey of Carson City. Brittany has been active at Carson High School as a member of the National Honor Society. She has volunteered as an elementary school tutor, for the Children's Museum and for community blood drives. She has been active in the school's culinary arts program and has won honors in state and national competitions. Brittany plans to attend the University of Nevada, Reno to major in nutrition.

The May Soroptimist Girl of the Month is Erica Williams, daughter of Diane Williams of Carson City. Erica has been active at Carson High School as a cheerleader. She received a Carson High School Outstanding Achievement Award in 2008 and have volunteered at Mark Twain Elementary School this year. She plans to attend the University of Nevada, Reno.
