Pedestrian killed late Sunday remains unidentified

Authorities are trying to identify a man killed late Sunday night as he ran across Highway 395 near Clearview Drive.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chuck Allen said Joseph Labranch, 27, of Carson City, was northbound in a 2004 GMC pickup about 300-feet from the Clearview Drive intersection when he saw the unidentified man running eastbound across the northbound lanes.

"He saw him at the last second and applied his brakes, but it was too late," said Allen. "The man died at the scene."

Allen said the victim did not have any identification on him.
