Obituary: Earl Pitman

Earl Pitman of Carson City passed away surrounded by his family, June 5, 2009 at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was 90 years old.

Earl was born in Eagleton, Ark. May 31, 1919 to Robert and Maudie Pitman. He was the oldest of five children. He served his country for 3 years in the South Pacific with the U.S. Army Combat Engineers during World War II.

For the past four years, Earl and his wife Pauline had been living with their daughter and son-in-law Roline and Denny in Carson City. Prior to moving to Northern Nevada, they resided in Littlerock, Calif. for 35 years.

Earl is survived by his wife of 67 years Pauline; son Ronnie of Tehachapi, Calif.; daughter Erma of Dayton, and daughter Roline of Carson City. He is also survived by four grandchildren Steve, Deanne and Rob of Carson City and Rhonda of Southern California. He also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren; sister Gladys Pinnell of Burbank, Calif. and several nephews and nieces.

Viewing will be 4-8 p.m., today at Autumn Funerals & Cremations. A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday at Autumn Funerals & Cremations, Interment will follow at Lone Mountain Cemetery. Arrangements are in the trusted care of Autumn Funerals & Cremations.
