LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Nevada Board of Regents has appointed a replacement for retiring chancellor Jim Rogers.
The higher education system's vice chancellor, Dan Klaich, will take over when Rogers steps down June 30.
Klaich will earn a salary and benefits of about $345,000 a year.
The regents also were due to consider higher tuition for students and lower pay for university and community college employees to balance a 12.5 percent budget cut imposed by the Legislature.
Regents last year approved a 5 percent tuition hike, and will consider an additional 5 percent increase that would take effect this fall.
