Highway 50 re-opens; I-80 still closed

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 7:42 a.m. Interstate 80 remains closed for 76.3 miles between Applegate and the California state line.

Highway 50 has reopened. Chains are required except for 4-wheel-drive vehicles for 41.9 miles between 9.1 miles east of Placerville and 4.1 miles west of SR 89.

Chains or snowtires are required for 21.1 miles between .7 miles east of the California state line and .4 miles west of junction Highway 395 at south Carson City.
