Dog obedience at Fuji Park May 26

Guy Yeaman will teach dog obedience, 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, Fuji Park, 701 Clear Creek Road. The class is a six-week session for $75. Dogs will learn to obey commands such as: heel, sit, stay, stand and recall. Each dog needs a training collar and a fabric or leather lead. Dogs must be at least 4 months old and current on their shots. To register and for information, call 265-4530.

Successfully manage diabetes series

Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center offers a diabetes education series, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 1600 Medical Parkway. These classes allow those with diabetes to acquire the knowledge and skills to successfully manage diabetes on a daily basis. Physician referral is required. For information, call 445-8607.

Genoa Home and Garden Tour

Tickets are on sale for the Genoa Home and Garden Tour. The tour starts at 10 a.m., Sunday, June 7. Open burning season ends in Lyon County

Captain Chuck Ritter, Central Lyon Fire Prevention, announces the end of open burning in Central Lyon County will be 2 p.m., Monday. For information, call 246-6209.
