The Jr. Pee Wee Senators dropped a hard fought battle against Douglas Friday night at Governor's field 14-6.
The first quarter saw both teams struggling to get their offenses going and ended 0-0. Douglas found the end zone early in the second quarter and made the kick to take an 8-0 lead. Carson's defense made a nice stand at the end of the second quarter to keep Douglas out of the end zone ending the half down 8-0. Douglas scored early in the fourth quarter to take a 14-0 lead. The Senator offense just could not get untracked due to turnovers and penalties.
Carson found the end zone just before the game ended as quarterback Derek Schafer connected on a long pass to Connor Pradere to break up the Douglas shutout. Carson was led on offense by Pradere, Schafer, Dennis Krueger and John Cavilia. The Senator defense was on the field for a large part of the game and really played hard.
The defense was led by Nolan Hogan, Noah Doddridge, Luke Myers, Nick Andreas, Conner Larkin, Jarod Butler and Andrew Trejo. The loss drops Carson to 1-1 on the season who will host South Lake Tahoe at Governors field this Friday at 6:00 p.m.
