Forecast: Wet weather on the way

The Carson City area should expect some wet weather starting tonight as a storm system begins to move into the area, according to the National Weather Service.

A chance of rain will increase tonight to 50 percent with an 80 percent chance of rain tomorrow. Snow and rain is expected on Saturday.

This Afternoon: A 10 percent chance of rain after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 47. Southwest wind around 10 mph.

Tonight: A 50 percent chance of rain, mainly after 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 30. South wind around 10 mph.

Friday: Rain. High near 46. South wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Friday Night: Rain likely before 10pm, then rain and snow likely. Snow level 5,000 feet. Cloudy, with a low around 28. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday: Rain and snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 44. Southwest wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Saturday Night: A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
