Able Bodies Gym will begin a 10-week course on Tai Chi in 40 Patterns Feb. 18.

The class will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays through April 22. Cost is $125 and space is limited.

Senior Tai Chi practitioner Sensei Kevin Milburn will teach the ancient training system that enhances balance, coordination, concentration, health and well-being through stances, postures, movement and breathing techniques.

A free presentation on parenting parents features Valeri Wood, a licensed clinical social worker for St. Mary's Hospital, at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Wood's talk is designed to provide strategic answers on how to strengthen the bond between adult children and parent's needing constant care.
