A judge determined Friday there is enough evidence to try a Carson City man in a stabbing outside a restaurant in January.

Nick Brown, out on bail, appeared for a preliminary hearing before Justice of the Peace John Tatro.

Brown, 19, is accused of stabbing Allan Mayoral-Ortiz, 23, five times after a dispute at the Dos Amigos Restaurant, which was hosting a party on Jan. 10.

Mayoral-Ortiz was stabbed several times, including in the hand and in the abdomen, which required emergency surgery, reports indicate. Mayoral-Ortiz testified he still has trouble using his injured hand.

Brown allegedly fled the scene and was found five days later after several witnesses came forward to identify him.

He will be arraigned in District Court on March 9.
