Carson City investigators are coming closer to identifying the suspect in a stabbing early Sunday morning at Dos Amigos Meat Market, said Detective Dena Lacy.
"We have identified two people of interest and are following the leads," she said.
Just after 2 a.m. while the restaurant in the 1600 block of Highway 50 East was hosting a party, at least two people got into an argument, said Capt. Ken Sandage.
"There was a shoving match inside. They went outside and that's when the unknown assailant pulled out a knife and stabbed" the victim, said Sandage.
Allan Mayoral-Ortiz, 23, was stabbed five times in abdomen, said Sandage.
The assailant was described as Hispanic, 5-feet 9-inches tall, 190 pounds, with a shaved head and light goatee. He was last seen wearing a Nevada Wolf Pack sweatshirt over a collared checkered shirt.
Mayoral-Ortiz underwent emergency surgery at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. He is expected to recover.
Sandage said the victim claims to not know his assailant.
