Valentine's Sunset Sweetheart Snowshoe Hike

Are you tired of doing the same old, run-of-the mill Valentine's date with your significant other? This is your chance to break out of the chocolate heart mold, and experience something different this Valentine's Day.

Enjoy snowshoeing around the beautiful Tahoe Meadows above Lake Tahoe at sunset. We will watch the sun sink down behind the snow-covered Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the guides will take your picture so that you can capture this memorable Valentine's date forever! That is not the end ... we will end the hike by enjoying some wine and cheese provided by local Reno and Tahoe vendors.

What are you waiting for? Ask that special someone out on a snowshoe adventure Valentine's date!

WHEN: Feb. 13

WHERE: Tahoe Meadows

DISTANCE: 3 miles, approximately

LEVEL: Easy, 2-3 hours

Practice yoga then ski under full moon

Join local yoga instructor Emily Williams, for an 90-minute yoga class in the Tahoe XC yurt from 6-8:30 p.m. Feb. 28.

Stretch and expand in your yoga practice while you are warmed by the wood fire. The yoga class will focus on a blend of Ashtanga and Iyengar practices, and is suitable for all levels. The yurt is situated right on the cross-country ski trail, giving you a special and beautiful spot to practice yoga.

After an invigorating practice we will head out the door and ski or snowshoe on a gentle trail in the full moon with long time Tahoe XC instructor Tim Hauserman to the yellow hut, about 1 km away, where hot drinks and the power of the moon await.

Don't hesitate to ask Tim for any skiing tips. Just $20. The yurt only holds 20 people, so please RSVP to Tim Hauserman at writeonrex@yahoo.com to reserve your spot. Participants must bring their own yoga and skiing gear, including a yoga mat and any props that are needed.
