The Silver State Detachment of the Carson City Marine Corps League along with the owners and staff of the Old Globe Saloon will be hosting a celebration for the 235th birthday of the United States Marine Corps at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Active duty and Marine Corps veterans and their families and anyone else wishing to participate are invited to attend.
"The important part is I want the families of Marines, particularly those serving now or those who've lost Marines in conflicts, to know they are very much invited," said organizer Gary Armstrong.
Birthday cake will be served at 6 p.m.
The Old Globe Saloon is at 407 N. Curry St. This is the second year the Carson City Marine Corps League has hosted a Marine Corps birthday party.
