After several major events swung through the South Shore area in recent weeks, there is another chance to show off your conditioning locally on Sunday.
The annual Kokanee Trail Runs are scheduled for Sunday morning at Taylor Creek Snow Park on Highway 89. Half marathon, 5K, 10K and a half-mile kids' runs are being offered.
Runners will race on trails among the colorful aspen trees near Fallen Leaf Lake. Youngsters should be on the lookout for Sammy the Salmon.
The half marathon starts at 9 a.m., the tadpole half-mile trot follows at
9:15 a.m. and 5K and 10K runners begin their races at
10 a.m. Costs are $10 for the tadpole trot, $45 for the half marathon and $40 for the 10K and 5K.
All race proceeds donated to Tahoe Heritage Foundation to support local school environmental programs.
