Stanton (Stan) Ernest Friberg, 62, born in Stockton, lost his life on Sept. 14, 2010 in Round Mountain, where he resided.

He is survived by his mother, Edna Friberg; daughter, Michelle Garcia; son-in-law, Richie Garcia; grandsons Kyle and Kody; as well as nieces and families - Stacie (Jarrod, Shianne and Jessica Miller); Kim (Tyler and Travis San Emeterio); Shane San Emeterio; nephew Matt (Nikkie, Breezy, Ema, Summer Grissom); and numerous close friends.

Stan was a very simple man that led an extraordinary life. He loved his family especially his grandsons and was a dedicated son, brother, dad, grandpa and friend. He earned great respect from everyone around him. Stan would give you the shirt off his back.

During Stan's early career years he enjoyed building homes in the Bay Area and in Sonoma. For the last 15 years he lived in Round Mountain, enjoying the outdoors, restoring tractors, working with cattle/horses and planting/harvesting hay, traveling to fires to cook for all the firefighters and cooking breakfast for the locals on Sundays.

In Stan's memory, a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9, at Davis Creek Group Picnic Area, Washoe Regional Park, Washoe Valley Nevada, at 1 p.m. For further information please e-mail: oakstrefrig@vom.com (Michelle).

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: Oakland's Children's Hospital Foundation, in memory of Stan Friberg, P.O. Box 2054 Oakland, CA. 94604-2054.
