A Carson City woman suspected of embezzling money from her employer and spending it on alcohol and drugs has jumped bail, an investigator said Tuesday.

Laurie Hancock, 43, has a felony failure to appear warrant for her arrest out of Carson City.

She was arrested Sept. 2 on suspicion of felony embezzlement, obtaining money under false pretenses, using a credit card without owner's permission, possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She is suspected of stealing $7,200 from Exyst.com, a local website company she worked for.

She posted bail and appeared in court two weeks ago, but allegedly left the courtroom before her name was called. She has since been on the lam, said Detective Bob Motamenpour.

Hancock is 5-feet-6-inches tall, 110 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Motamenpour suspects someone in town is hiding Hancock.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts can contact non-emergency dispatch at 887-2007 or during regular business hours call Motamenpour at 887-2020 ext. 41406.

Motamenpour said aiding and abetting to harbor a fugitive is a felony in Nevada and could result in a prison sentence.
