The Carson Valley Quilt Guild is currently involved in a relief program headed up by Quilters' Newsletter, a magazine group located in Golden, Colo.

They have contacted all quilt guilds/ subscribers of their magazine to donate completed quilts for the "Japanese Comfort Quilts" relief fund.

The Carson Valley guild is trying to put together as many quilts as possible to send off to their headquarters in Golden for shipping to the magazine's sister publication in Japan. These quilts will assist those who lost everything to the earthquake/tsunami last month, and will be passed out to those most in need.

On Monday the community quilts group, which meets at the Minden Library will be working on hand-sewing labels onto the quilts for shipping. Although an exact count is not know, the group expects to send more than 50.
