Greek Progressive Dinner
Summer is flying by but there are some great events schedule for September starting with, of course, the Best in the West Rib-Cook in Sparks. Go by and support Carson BBQ and vote for the local boys.
If you want good food, another event is the P.E.O. Sisterhood's A Greek Progressive Dinner. Start with Greek appetizers with three courses at three lovely homes on the west side of Carson City. It's great food and fun.

Ron Wood Family Resource Center ceremony and fundraiser
This event is for one of the nicest men that I have ever met, The Honorable Robey Willis. I have sat in his court and listened to his words of wisdom and wish I could have the kindness and ability to speak his very practical truths for others to embrace. Come join the Ron Wood Family Resource Center in this big event and honor a man above others, Robey Willis.

Soroptimist Stroke to Help golf tournament
This golf tournament helps so many women of all ages. Breast cancer does not have guidelines on who it touches and whether they can afford a mammogram or follow-up testing. Breast cancer can make women without funds or health coverage debate, whether to pay a doctor's bill or the rent, put food on the table or purchase children's school supplies. I have helped this program for years and I guarantee the money goes 100 percent back to women in our community without resources in their individual battle against breast cancer. Come out and hit the course and help many survive with the first step - early detection - while having fun.

Professional women and retirees interested in knowing more about Soroptimists International of Carson City and the wonderful things members do for the community are invited to an Introduction to Soroptimist orientation at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 8. The wine and cheese social will be at the Marilyn Lewis State Farm Insurance office, 321 W. Winnie Lane, Suite 106. RSVP by calling Charlene Spinner at 267-4901.
THIS WEEKEND: Don't Forget the "FORGET ME NOT PROGRAM." Cloth flowers will be sold at Raley's, Save Mart, Smith's and Walmart stores to help raise money for Veteran's Transportation Program.
