Postponed partnership: A spirited and fastidious girl residing on King Street declined to be married, even though her guests and bridegroom were assembled for the event. The postponement was because the train of her dress did not hang properly.

Col. Curry: Not a stone or monument of any kind, character or description, marks the spot where the late Colonel Abe Curry is buried at Carson. He did more for Carson in his lifetime than any other fifty men have accomplished.

70 YEARS AGO

The Remarkable Andrew: The taking of a movie picture for Paramount Picture crew has been delayed because of illness. Plans had been made to use several local people as extras in the picture. (Later filmed at the Rinckle Mansion).

50 YEARS AGO

Miss Carson City, Nancy Franklin, was enthusiastically welcomed to Bridgeport at the Fourth of July parade with her court of Patty Doty, Barbara Jones and Linda Chambers as part of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce float.
