Obituary: Donald Dean Hill

Sergeant Don Hill was a Veteran of The United States Army 1982-1986 and received numerous honors and awards. Don was the Owner/Operator of Hilltop Specialties. As Captain of Po' Boy Racing, Don was a race car driver at T-Car/Silver State Raceway for several years and was the Champion in Hobby Stock Division 1998 driving the No. 81 Ford Torino. He was a philanthropist delivering cookies to the Veterans Home at Christmas Time, supporting the Make a Wish Foundation and Advocates to End Domestic Violence. Don was a member of the Carson City Raiders Booster Club and an Oakland "A's" Fan. He was famous for his BBQ's and was well known to his family and friends as "KRAKR".

Don loved his family and friends dearly and he will be forever missed. He was ready and willing to help anyone in need. His laughter and sense of humor will remain in our hearts as well as his cocked head and big grin.

Don is survived by the love of his life, Jana Trudell; son, Casey P. Hill; daughter, Danika L. Hill (Missy); stepdaughter, Karessa Jared; brother, Terry Hill; sisters, Michelle Houtz and Christina Jeffries; his favorite uncle, Lowell Hill; brother-in-law, Harold Houtz; nieces, Heather Houtz-Long, Keegan Jeffries, and Amanda Futch; nephew, Garrett Jeffries; best friend, Thomas Oddone; numerous friends which he considered family and his faithful dogs, Bella and Otto.

A Celebration of Life will be held 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at the Carson City Elks Lodge, 515 N. Nevada St. A pot luck will be held, attendees are welcome to bring a dish to share.

In lieu of flowers or donations, an account is to be set up for his daughter, Danika Hill for her College Fund.
