The Fallon Longhorns had a strong showing at the Triple Threat AAU tournament in Lassen on April 12-13.

The seventh-grade boys team took first place with a 3-0 record, while eighth-grade girls and freshmen boys teams each placed second with 2-1 records.

The JV boys also went 2-1, while the varsity lost all three.

In the seventh-grade final, Trae’ Thomson hit five straight 3-points to lead the Longhorns past Reno-based Jamonit.

The eighth-graders, meanwhile, lost to Chico (Calif.) to take third, while the Lady Longhorns fell to the Lowry Warriors.

The freshmen team fell, 81-80, to Triple Threat in the finale, while the JV beat Triple Threat and lost to Jamonit.
