County will meet today

The second Churchill County Commission meeting of December will be conducted today at 1:15 p.m. at the Churchill County Administration Building chambers, 155 N. Taylor St.

Among the items commissioners will discuss and that are up for possible action include the following:

Consideration and possible action regarding recognition of employees for their years of service to Churchill County.

Consideration and possible action regarding presentation on the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the Year Ended June 30.

Consideration and possible action regarding bid award for lease of Wild Goose property.

Consideration and possible action regarding public hearing-final discussion and approval for one application to be submitted for the State CDBG FY 2016 funding opportunity.

Consideration and possible action regarding the State of Nevada, Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child and Family Services, NRS 432B.042 billing report.

Consideration and possible action regarding Bill 2014-F, Ordinance 32, amending Churchill County Code to create an aboveground utility corridor, including preapproval of transmission lines of 200 kilovolts or larger in recognized corridors and other matters related thereto.

Consideration and possible action regarding presentation, discussion, and adoption of an amendment to Section 9, Public Services and Facilities of the 2010 Churchill County Master Plan, in accordance with Assembly Bill 239 (2013) creating an aboveground utility plan for electrical transmission lines passing through the county in recognized corridors and other items related in the Churchill County Master Plan.

Consideration and possible action regarding update of current activities, plans, or actions related to the Carson City District of the Bureau of Land Management.

The Churchill Animal Protection Society (CAPS) requests the second quarterly installment of $5,000 of the $20,000 allocated for FY 2014-2015.

Consideration and possible action regarding commissioner elections and board and committee assignments for 2015.

Consideration and possible action regarding appointment to Churchill County Boards: Churchill County Library Board and the Churchill County Planning Commission.

Consideration and possible action regarding approval of Administrative Order No. 2014-02 for the disposal of dangerous weapons from the Sheriffs Office.
