Richard Lewis Thompson, Jr., of Fallon, NV passed away on November 7th, 2015 in Sparks, NV. Richard was born on February 16,1934 to Richard and Ethel Thompson in Riverton, WY. Richard was raised in Dubois, WY on the family ranch. He also lived in Superior, MT prior to entering the Air Force in 1952. Richard served in Europe and the US before retiring from the Air Force in 1972. It was then that he settled in Fallon, NV. While in Fallon, Richard worked for the Civil Service at the Fallon Air Station. He was a part of the Elks Lodge, #2239 in Fallon. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ethel, sisters Betty Daniels, Marylee Kollmeyer and husband Dutch; Marion Wallrich and husband Jim. He is also preceded in death by wife Patricia in 1976 and wife Virginia in 2006. Richard is survived by nephew, Douglas Daniels (Anchorage, AK), niece, Lonna Landwehr (Columbia Falls, MT), niece, Christy Berry (Clarksville, GA), niece Melody Jiran (Savannah, GA), stepdaughters Karen Montrose Holcher (Fallon, NV), Kathy Lee (Dayton, NV) step-son, Jack Montrose (Fallon, NV). Richard’s ashes will be taken to Wyoming in the spring of 2016 and scattered at the Thompson Ranch. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Elks Lodge #2239 in Fallon, NV.
