1948 - 2015



Nancy Deutscher, age 67, died Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. Born Nancy Cook in Great Falls, Montana in 1948, she is survived by her brother Clay Cook, his wife, and their daughter. In 1966, she graduated with honors from Billings Montana West High School. Then on to college, graduating from the University of Western Montana. Nancy taught school for 35 years, serving first in Bear Lake, Idaho, and then coming to Fallon, Nevada, to teach English at Churchill County Junior High School in 1989. During her Fallon teaching years, she was involved in the Natural Helpers program, helped with many school musicals, did after-school tutoring, taught Adult Ed., and ran a transition summer school. As a lifelong learner, Nancy had a passion for helping others learn and gave her all to her teaching life. She generously gave of her resources to help children, animals, and others in need throughout her lifetime. Although she will be greatly missed, it is a comfort to know she went “home” for Christmas.
