Fort Bragg, Calif., resident Janneke Strong, 36, has been identified as the person who was reported as a possible drowning in Topaz Lake on Wednesday afternoon.
The cause of Strong’s death has not been determined, and is pending results from an autopsy, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. This investigation is ongoing.
Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Pat Brooks said a report that a person was face down in 4 feet of water along the north shore of Topaz Lake was received at about 1:48 p.m.
Strong was taken to the Carson Valley Medical Center where she died at 3:04 p.m.
