Summer Stampede Duathlon

Churchill County Parks and Recreation is proud to bring you the Summer Stampede Duathlon. The Summer Stampede is a run/bike/run duathlon that will bring you all around the Fallon/Churchill County area.

This event is for all skill levels from beginners to advanced athletes. All participants will receive an event shirt, post race lunch and a finisher medal upon completion of the course. Awards will be given to the top 3 in each age group, with a special award to the event winner for each gender.

Age groups: 16-20, 21-35, 36-45, 46-55, 55+

Entry fee: $30, no day-of registration

Fitness Bootcamp

Churchill County Parks and Recreation is proud to bring you morning fitness bootcamp classes. These classes are designed for all levels of fitness. Join Marianne Woller Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings each week at the Venturacci Gym at 5 a.m. for classes. The drop-in rate for each class is $5 or you can purchase a 10 class punch pass for $40.

Exercise is Medicine

Join Debbie Coblentz, certified dietician and personal trainer Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the Venturacci Gym. The program is geared toward active adults needing a chance to exercise indoors and walk at their own pace in a safe and controlled manner.

Health tips will be dispersed and fun will be had. The program has a registration fee of $20 for eight classes and a $3 drop-in fee.

Disc Golf Spring Tournament

Join the Churchill County Parks and Recreation Department for its first ever disc golf tournament. This event will be an 18 hole tournament using a shotgun start. It will be a team event that will match up different levels of skill together.

Each participant will get a custom disc for their registration as well as a post-round meal. To sign up, contact the Parks and Recreation Office at 423-7733.

Date: Saturday, May 13, check in at 8:15 a.m.

$25 per person registration fee.

SUMFUN Summer Day Camp

SUMFUN is eleven weeks of summer day camp beginning Tuesday, May 30 and ending August 11, 2017. Camp is open to youth 6 to 12 years of age from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Each week includes a theme, snacks, games, activities, crafts, field trips and swimming. Pre-registration for each week is required.

Registration is open — $85 per week, drop in is $25 per day and there will be a one time registration fee of $15, for the first child only, which includes a SUMFUN T-shirt.

Water In Motion

Water In Motion, the new wave in water exercise is being offered at Churchill County Pool. Classes are offered Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 7 a.m., Monday and Wednesday at 11 a.m., Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Passes and fees are interchangable with wave classes. Classes are $5 drop-in or class passes are $35 for 8 classes or $50 for 12 classes.

Wave Classes

Wave classes are offered at Churchill County Pool to help you maintain a strong body and reach your fitness goals using the benefits of water. These water exercise classes improve your body’s endurance, strength, flexibility, and coordination using the therapeutic benefits of water.

Classes are $5 Drop-In or class passes are $35 for 8 classes or $50 for 12 classes.

Active Wave — 8:30 a.m. Shallow Water on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

Deep Wave — 8:30 a.m. Deep Water on Monday and Wednesday

Deep Wave — 11 a.m. Fridays

Take Away the Aches

Churchill County Indoor Pool is offering Take Away the Aches class on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m. These classes increase your flexibility, strength, and coordination with low impact exercise to improve your daily living.

This class is excellent for people just beginning an exercise program or people dealing with limited motion, diabetes, and arthritis. All ability levels and non swimmers welcome. Classes are $3 Drop-In or $22 for 8 classes.

Swim Times

Churchill County Pool hours are Open Swim: Mon., Wed., Fri. from 4-5:30 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. Lap Swim: Mon.-Fri. 5:30-7:30 a.m., 11-1 p.m., and Mon., Wed., Fri. 6:30-8 p.m. Admission: Adults $3.50 and Youth/Seniors $2.50.
