Join the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada for a night of food, wine, treats and celebration with the ones you love Saturday, Feb. 13, from 5-6 p.m.
BGCWN is hosting a Galentine’s Event in conjunction with their virtual Youth of the Year recognition. From the comfort of your home, you can enjoy food from the Union, wine and other goodies, while watching BGCWN honor outstanding youth, teens and community partners.
Tickets are $75 for a couple, or $150 for a group of five. To purchase tickets, visit www.bgcwn.org or contact Hannah Stigall at hannahs@bgcwn.org.
“Each year, I am amazed at how resilient our teens and youth are. They have experienced more in their short lives on this earth than most can imagine. I encourage you to join us, enjoy a night at home with someone special and see what our amazing kids are doing and how the Club has changed their lives,” said BGCWN Executive Director and CEO Katie Leao Geiser.
For 27 years the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada has honored and celebrated its teen and youth members for their accomplishments. The Annual Youth of the Year event showcases what BGCWN does for its youth and the impact it has on the community. Celebrating an outstanding member from each of the Clubs program areas and hearing teens share stories about their time at the club and the adversities they have overcome is inspiring.
The end of the night culminates with the announcement of the teen Youth of the Year winner. This teen will represent the Club at the state competition alongside other Nevada Youth Teen winners. Youth of the Year is a prestigious honor, and the winner helps tell our story throughout the year and represents the Club at local and state events.
In addition to celebrating our youth, the Club will honor two outstanding community partners for their investment in the Club.
If you are unable to attend but still want to make an impact, you can donate on the event’s website under “ticket and sponsor.” Click on Stand Up for Kids and make a donation. For every $5 that you donate you will be entered to win a raffle basket. These gift baskets include photography, a night out in Carson and Reno, tickets to the Reno Rodeo, and much more.
Winners will be contacted after the event.
